Multimedia Presentation, Design Journal and Prototype
These are the rubrics for your final piece of work due in Term 4, Week 4. THREE things that you would need to submit are:
1. Multimedia Presentation: this is supposed to be a self-running multimedia presentation that should last a MAXIMUM of only 3 minutes! It could include graphics, pictures, voiceovers, sound, text or other media that should explain how your final product works, and solve the intended problem. Creativity is highly encouraged, and thus approaches similar to advertisements, campaigns and telling a story are possibilities that could be explored. This presentation should be uploaded into your ADMT blogs and commented upon subsequently by your peers.
2. Design Journal: this should include observations and product ideas that you have captured in this project, and your evaluation of them. This should be concluded with how your product is supposed to resolve the problem that you are tackling, and your finalised product idea. It should preferably be done in Word/Pages and should be able to explain sufficiently the processes involved in coming out with the final product.
3. Prototypes/Models: this is supposed to be working, or almost working, models of your product ideas. It should be able to show clearly how the problem that you have highlighted, is supposed to be solved. Use of cardboards, corrugated boards, wire, clay and others, where relevant, are highly encouraged.

Holiday work - Part 2: Deepening your learning experiences
As part of your research into understanding the elderly, you are tasked to also take video clips, photographs, or any other forms of recordable media to show how the elderly cope with their daily routines. These could include, but not necessarily limited to, every day activities such as: cooking a simple meal, pouring water from a flask, going to the market to buy groceries, going down the stairs, exercising, etc.
As a follow up, each one of you would do a podcast or a writeup of your observations and interviews with the elderly, caretaker, nurses or anyone who work with the elderly. Find out from them what are the problems that the elderly faces. Look for opportunities to observe and interview them such as at the senior citizens corners, void decks, hawker centers, etc.
Note that you are highly encouraged to select a range of elderly folks to observe so as to give you a broader perspective of them.
Submission:
You are to post your work on your personal ADMT blog every Wednesday of the week during the June holidays. (2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd June 2010). Name your post: Elderly Challenge - Observation 1, Elderly Challenge - Observation 2, etc. You are also tasked to go to other students’ personal ADMT Blog to comment on their posts.

Animation - Story Creation (7th April 2010)
Each student is to come up with 3 stories.
Bring the hardcopy of the stories for discussion during the next lesson, 13th April 2010.
Some things that you might want to take note of are:
* Use the research information that you and your group have collated earlier in Term 1 to come out with some initial story ideas/seeds
* Do be mindful of your 5W+1H's (Who, What, Where, When, Why, How). For eg, who is your target audience, what is the message that you want to deliver, when would be an appropriate time for your clip to be shown, why do you think your clip would be most effective, etc
* The 4 key structures of a story, as mentioned in the last session on creating a story:
o PREMISE: (5W+1H, Protagonists, Antagonists, Goals)
o CONFLICT: Goals, Opposing Attributes, the Antagonists (Others, Self, the surrounding Environment)
o Crisis: Height of Conflict, Important Decision
o Climax: Resolution of Conflict, Achievement of Goals

Classwork - 10th Mar 2010
Task 1: Check the proposed solutions. Ask yourself the following questions.
1) Is this solution feasible?
If yes, how do you intend to implement it?
If no, how can we make it feasible? What are the constraints?
2) Are we doing what others are doing? How is it different from the current way of doing things? How can we make it different? Use SCAMPER to help you come up with better ideas.
NOTE: Don't do what others are doing.
Make changes to the proposed solution keynote and email to Ms Seah.
Task 2: Based on the area that the group have chosen e.g. recycling/pollution/deforestation. You are to promote/encourage e.g recycling to save the mother earth.
In your group,
1) Brainstorm on the messages that you want to bring across to the audience.
Among all the messages, decide on one message that you think is the most important.
2) Discuss how you want to bring the message across to the audience? What kind of a story that you want to tell in order to capture the interest of the audience. Think of interesting ways to send the message across. (Keep in mind that you would be using paper animation to tell the story)
Suggestion: You can choose to tell the story from different perspective, e.g. from the perspective of the future generations or from the perspective of a water droplet.
At the end of the lesson, come up with a story outline with storyboard and email to Ms Seah.

ADMT Lesson 1 Environment - Daniel Pei
Yes, if humans do not stop harming and mistreating it, the Earth, as well as the humans, will be doomed.
We can start by reducing our usage of electricity, water, and other everyday products;reusing materials and
recycling unwanted stuff. We should also not purchase illegal skins or other illegal animal products, and
conserve natural resources. The fate of the world depends on US!
New Windows 7: Find the right PC for you. Learn more.

ADMT LESSON 1 ENVIRONMENT
Yes, due to our selfish human acts which are causing the shrinking of forests, leaving animals homeless and creating much more natural disasters. We should try to reduce the usage of non-renewable resources and also try to reuse and recycle items. Also we should use things until they are worn out or spoiled and not change them frequently.

I think that human selfish acts will bring about the earth's doom.

I think that human selfish acts will bring about the earth's doom.
We should practice the 3 R's namely
-Reuse
-Recycle
-Reduce
Reuse- We reuse whenever we can for example if we buy a bottled drink instead of throwing it away we can reuse it as our temporary water bottles for a week until it leaks
Recycle- After using it for a week we can recycle the bottle at a plastic recycling point.
Reduce- We should not keep changing our necessities unless it is absolutely necessary for example we do not need do buy a new handphone unless it is spoilt and should not keep buying new ones to keep up with the times.
Conservative Tips
-We can use the water used to wash the vegetables to wash the car.
-We can use rainwater to wash the car.
-We must have a full load in the washing machine before starting it.
-Take the public transport instead of personal transport.
-Turn off the lights when we leave the room.
-On a cool day use a fan instead of air-conditioning.
Since the damage has been done now we only can try to reduce the impact on the environment and avoid the destruction of earth and the flooding of islands off the coast and destruction of many countries near the coastal regions.
Our poor earth has been attacked by us, our selfish acts to earn money releasing toxic gases into the air causing global warming, and acid rain to happen
We must stop now or Mother Nature will punish us. It has already punished us with acid rain and global warming. If we do not stop polluting the environment now, the polar caps may melt completely and the earth be flooded
ADMT Lesson 1 - Environment
I think that the selfish acts of human beings will bring about Earth's doom as if we do not stop the depletion of resources in the planet, we will die. To save ourselves, we need to use technology, which is actually the action of scientific knowledge being used for practical purposes, to create something that can be a solution, however not absolute, to this problem.
